PTI declares nationwide protests post Friday prayers following attack.
After on Imran khan attack taking to Twitter, Asad Umar said that PTI will be holding Nationwide protests after Friday prayers, adding that demonstrations will continue till Imran Khan’s demands are met.
“The protests will continue until Khan’s demands are met,” he tweeted.
One man was murdered and at least ten others were injured in the attack on Khan’s convoy, which considerably raised the stakes in the political crisis that has gripped the nation since Khan’s ouster in April.
At the Shaukat Khanum hospital, Khan “was stable and he was doing good,” according to his physician Faisal Sultan.
After the PTI chairman had CT Scan, X-Rays, and other tests at the hospital throughout the evening, a team of medical experts led by Dr. Faisal Sultan will recheck him in the morning.
The PTI chief escaped with at least one bullet wound to his right leg when gunmen sprayed pistol to fire at his container truck in Wazirabad.
The former prime minister was ambushed while leading a sizable campaign convoy from Lahore to Islamabad last week.
US denounces attack
The long march‘s shooting of the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has been denounced by US State Secretary Antony Blinken.
The US strongly condemns the shooting of Khan during a political gathering, according to Antony Blinken’s tweet.
“We send our condolences to the family of the person who was slain and wishes for a speedy recovery for him and everyone else who was hurt. Everyone involved should maintain calm. Politics should not involve violence, he continued.
