According to Indian media, the High Court rejected the petition, stressing the importance of artists working to promote peace and cultural harmony.

According to the court’s decision, activities like art, music, sports, culture and dance should transcend national boundaries and promote harmony and peace in society.

According to the verdict, a true patriot is one who serves his country selflessly instead of harboring enmity with neighboring countries.

A number of Pakistani artists including Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Atif Aslam, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and others faced a ban on working in India in 2019 after which they were all barred from working in India.
