Ahsan Iqbal Says Government's Top Priority is to Increase Exports

Ahsan Iqbal: Government prioritizes boosting exports as top objective.

When he talk about exports, Ahsan Iqbal was speaking at the University of Management and Technology’s first international conference on advances in civil and construction engineering. According to Iqbal, political stability is necessary for economic growth, and the coalition administration had to make difficult choices because of the nation’s dismal economic situation.

He said that colleges should place the greatest emphasis on research since only through it would our exports grow, which will act as a foundation for the growth of our nation. He emphasized the significance of stability for a nation’s growth and development and claimed that our country’s political turmoil prevented us from moving forward.

Ahsan Iqbal counseled that cooperation is essential if we are to thrive since it has enabled every developing nation to grow.  The top architects in the nation are playing a crucial part in the development of our country, he continued, therefore engineering development has become urgently necessary.

He stated in his closing remarks that all of the development will be made conceivable only when there are solid ties between academia and business, and when talented young researchers contribute significantly to the growth of all industries via innovation.

The event was attended by President UMT Ibrahim Hasan Murad, Dr. Asif Raza, Rector UMT, Dr. Abid Sherwani, DG UMT, Prof. Dr. Mujahid Kamran, Dr. Usman Rasheed, Dean School of Engineering, and Dr. Asif Naseer, Chairperson Department of Civil Engineering.
