Junaid Jamshed still rules the hearts of people

Junaid Jamshed seventh anniversary fans pay tribute to him.

ISLAMABAD: Renowned singer, musician, preacher, religious scholar and Naat Khawan Junaid Jamshed is being remembered by his fans on his seventh death anniversary.

Junaid Jamshed and his second wife lost their lives in a tragic plane crash in Havelian on December 7, 2016. 47 people lost their lives in the accident. The ill-fated plane was going from Chitral to Islamabad.

Born on September 3, 1964, Jamshed has a rich history of achievements. Graduated with a mechanical engineering degree in 1990, he initially aspired to become a professional F-16 fighter pilot in the Pakistan Air Force, his initial goal being to follow in the footsteps of his father, a pilot in the Pakistan Air Force. He was a retired group captain, but the PAF Selection Board rejected his nomination papers due to poor eyesight.

After turning to music in 1983, Jamshed rose to fame with the release of the hit song “Dil Dil Pakistan” on Independence Day 1987. His album “Vital Signs” further increased his popularity. Notably, Junaid Jamshed’s “Dil Dil Pakistan” was voted the third best song in the world in a 2003 BBC World Service poll.

Inspired by Maulana Tariq Jameel

Jamshed gave up music in 2004 after being inspired by renowned preacher and scholar Maulana Tariq Jameel, and devoted himself to Islam.

He received the Tamgha Imtiaz from the Government of Pakistan in 2007 as a reward for his devotion to religious duty.

Additionally, Jamshed has left a lasting legacy with his iconic clothing line, “J.”, which has numerous stores both in Pakistan and abroad.

On the seventh death anniversary of Junaid Jamshed, his fans continue to pay tribute to his many achievements that have left a lasting impression on the religious and cultural milieu of Pakistan.
