BIEK suggests delaying exams next year, rising heatwave in May & June.
The annual intermediate exams are administered in May and June throughout Sindh, including Karachi. But the risks of a heatwave during these months owing to climate change are endangering the pupils.
Due to the growing likelihood of heatwaves in May and June, Chairman of the Intermediate Board of Karachi Prof. Saeeduddin has written a letter to Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Shah requesting to hold annual exam in April and May next year.
Additionally, it was said in the letter that it is challenging for both students and administrators to take examinations because of how hot it is.
He pleaded with the steering committee to authorise the rescheduling of inter-examinations at the following meeting and then to rise from the relevant authorities.
It should be mentioned that Karachi and the rest of Sindh have started their annual inter exams as of today, May 30.
Up until June 27th, there will be more exams.
