Maryam Nawaz return to Pakistan with father; expected stay in London.
She received her passport on LHC’s order on 4 October. Maryam Nawaz, Vice President of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, is due to travel to London today (Wednesday) after the Lahore High Court returned her passport, which she had forfeited to secure bail in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case.
The PML-N leader has already arrived at Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore for her journey to London. “I cannot wait for the plane to land [in London] and meet my father,” Maryam told at the airport. Sources say that the PML-N leader is traveling via an airline flight that is private. Additionally, they claimed, she is anticipated to stay in London for a month and get a medical checkup.
Sharif family sources told that Maryam will return to Pakistan with her father, Nawaz Sharif. Maryam’s passport was returned to Maryam a day earlier after an LHC that is a three-member bench earlier this week, ordered her to return the travel document. The PML-N leader had approached the LHC against the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
Saying despite the absence of any charge sheet she had not been able to exercise her fundamental rights for about four years against her trial. She had asked the court to order the deputy registrar (judicial) to restore her passport in the interest of justice, arguing that she was in urgent need of traveling abroad to care for and get information on her ailing father.
