Sindh Transport Minister introduced Peoples Bus Service Mobile App.
Details indicate that the mobile app choice was made during a meeting to assess People’s Bus Service‘s performance, which was presided over by Provincial Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon.
Sharjeel Inam Memon was informed about the meeting’s topics, including the bus service’s operations, new routes, the RTS system, and the creation of a command and control room.
Speaking at the event, the provincial minister announced that users of a mobile app would be able to track bus operations and make payments.
The ITS system, which includes CCTV cameras, screens, live tracking, and monitoring capabilities, will also be activated following the conference.
The minister added that the Sindh Mass Transit Authority was establishing a command and control room and that, starting on November 30, a mobile app and an ITS system would be made available.
After a route extension earlier in October, the prices for Peoples Bus Service were increased from Rs50 to Rs100.
According to Information
The National Radio & Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC), the federal organization that manages and operates the Peoples Bus Service(PBS) in the province, has been given permission by the Sindh government to raise the fees on a bus route in the city.
Except for R-9, none of the routes from R-1 to R-10 had their fares raised; however, the fares for R-9 were increased from Rs50 to Rs100.
According to the sources, the operator increased the PBS fare since operating the buses on the route that stretched up to 58 km was no longer economically feasible due to an increase in pricing.
Earlier, the Transport & Mass Transit Department Government of Sindh issued the notification for the nine routes of the Peoples Intra-District Bus Service.
