NEPRA Reduced Electric Tariff by Rs 10.80 Per Unit

Islamabad: NEPRA announces Rs 10.80 per unit reduction for K Electric.

According to the notification issued by Nepra, the reduction in electric rates of K Electric was done in the month of December due to Fuel Cost Adjustment (FCA), K Electric has requested Nepra to reduce the electricity tariff by Rs 10.26 per unit as a fuel charges adjustment (FCA).

The notification states that the relief will not be applicable to lifeline consumers, consumers up to 300 units, agricultural consumers, and electric vehicle charging stations, meanwhile, the relief will be applicable only for one month.

Last month, K-Electric (KE) submitted an application to Nepra for a reduction of Rs 10.26 per unit in fuel charges adjustments (FCAs) for the month of February 2023.

According to a K Electric spokesperson, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) will hold a public hearing on January 30 to reduce electricity rates. With the approval, K Electric customers will get relief in February electricity bills.

The spokesperson of Wahid Power Company of Karachi further said that the production cost of electricity from RLNG and furnace oil has been reduced by 17 and 15 percent respectively.
