PESHAWAR: Pakistan Army has rescued tourists who’ve been stranded in Kumrat Valley inside the Upper Dir District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) issued a press release relating to households who had gone from Islamabad and have been caught in Kumrat due to sudden flash floods.
It stated contact was established troops on the route of Corps Commander Peshawar to search out the stranded visitors.
Pakistan Army troops have evacuated 22 people via helicopter. It added that some households went on hills and couldn’t be evacuated due to bad climate.
However, the army troops are sustaining contact with them and people famines have been shifted to safer locations round these mountain tops.
It added these persons are protected and can be evacuated by army aviation helicopters when climate permits.
He stated a floor drive is ready from Khawezakhela for evacuation. The army has advised people from traveling within the direction of Swat and surrounding areas due to flash floods.
It was earlier reported that round 30 tourists along with children and ladies have been trapped in flood-hit tourist area of Kumrat valley. The tourists belonging to Punjab have been coping with a shortage of meals whereas kids have been falling sick due to extreme chilly.
The road to the area has been flooded somewhere else and tourists couldn’t be evacuated from the valley for the ultimate two days. The stranded tourists appealed to the federal and provincial governments for help.
Additional Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah stated that meals and tents have been supplied to the students who’re stranded. He added that the students may be evacuated safely as rapidly because the climate will get increased.
