According to news, Pakistan qualified directly for T20 World Cup 2026.
The International Cricket Council has announced the 12 teams qualifying for the T20 World Cup 2026, with Pakistan directly qualifying based on international rankings.
All 8 teams who played the Super Eight stage in the World Cup jointly hosted by the West Indies and the United States of America made a direct berth in the 2026 World Cup, according to the statement released by the ICC.

The direct qualifying teams include Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Australia, West Indies, India, South Africa, USA and England.
Pakistan, New Zealand, and Ireland qualified based on the International Ranking, ICC announced the qualification based on the International T20 Ranking as on 30 June.
Sri Lanka and India will participate in the T20 World as hosts.
20 teams will also participate in the T20 World Cup 2026, and 8 teams from the Regional Qualifying Round will get access to the World Cup 2026 based on top position.
20 teams will be divided into four groups, 55 matches will be played in the World Cup, T20 World Cup 2026 will be played in Sri Lanka and India.
According to ICC
According to ICC, 2 top teams from Africa, 1 from the Americas, 2 from Asia, 1 from Asia Pacific, and 2 from Europe will play in the World Cup 2026 in the regional qualification round.
It may be remembered that in the T20 World Cup 2024, Pakistan was defeated by the inexperienced USA in the Super Over and then the national batting line-up faltered in pursuit of an easy target of 120 runs against India.
After two consecutive defeats, the Pakistani team began to depend on the defeat of the United States, but rain during the match between Ireland and the United States dashed Pakistan’s hopes and their World Cup journey ended in the first stage.
After not reaching the Sprite stage, there was a debate whether Pakistan would directly reach the World Cup in 2026, or would have to play its qualifying rounds.
