Cold and dry spell in Pakistan is ending as the MD predicts rainfall.
The most recent PMD advisory states that a northerly wave has entered portions of Northwestern Balochistan. and is expected to touch the upper and central regions of the pakistan on December 28 and possibly last through December 29.
From December 27 to December 29, rain with snowfall over the hills is predicted in the following locations: Quetta, Zhob, Barkhan, Ziarat, Nokkundi, Dalbandin, Harani, Qillah Saifullah, Qillah Abdullah, Chaman, Pishin, Gwadar, Jiwani, Turbat, Panjgur, Kalat, Khuzdar, Sibbi, Naseerabad, and Lasbella.
On December 28 and 29, it is also predicted that there will be light to moderate rain and snow in Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Malakand, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Mardan, Peshawar, Charsadda, Bajaur, Kurram, Waziristan, Kohat, Sargodha, Islamabad, Murree, Galiyat, and Pothohar.
Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, Rahimyar Khan, and Bhakkar are also predicted to experience light precipitation during this time.
According to the Met Office, the rain will be good for standing crops, especially in Barani areas, and fog is likely to clear up even during the forecast period. Snowfall, however, may cause traffic distractions in hilly and mountainous areas.
