Petroleum Products Prices Reduced

Ishaq Dar announces govt decision to reduce petroleum price on Sunday.

The cost of petrol will continue at Rs 282 per liter for the next two weeks while the cost of other petroleum products, high-speed diesel has decreased by Rs 5, to Rs 288 per liter.

Dar said that following the suggestion of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority, the government made every effort to resolve the issue of petrol prices in favor of the country. He claimed that the final price change was decided after several meetings.

Ishaq Dar has already announced an increase of 2 rupees 50 paise in the price of petrol. 10 per liter on April 15.

Diesel and light diesel oil remained unchanged at their previous prices of Rs 293 and Rs 174.68 respectively, while kerosene rose by Rs 5.78 to Rs 186.07.

Between April 1 and April 15, the country consumed around 20,000 tonnes of petrol and 15,500 tonnes of high-speed diesel per day.

An estimated 8,000 to 10,000 tonnes of high-speed diesel per day was being smuggled into Pakistan, while demand for Iranian petrol was low due to its quality and overall decline in fuel demand.
