The Multan Cricket Stadium hosted the PSL 9 Today match between the Multan Sultans and the Lahore Qalandars today. With six balls left, the Multan Sultans, the hosts, prevailed by a margin of five wickets.
After winning the coin toss, Lahore decided to bat first. They made 166 runs in all until the Multan Sultans bowled them out.
After only two runs, Sahibzada Farhan was removed from the game early. Rassie van der Dussen and Fakhar Zaman led Lahore in scoring with 41 and 54 runs, respectively. But Multan Sultans bowled brilliantly, which limited Lahore’s pace of runs scored.
Jahandad Khan scored 16 runs, and Sikandar Mirza added 23 to Lahore’s total. Carlos Brathwaite and Abdullah Shafique were the final batsmen to enter the field; they scored 15 and 6 runs, respectively.
Multan Sultans suffered an early blow in the second innings as Dawid Malan was removed without adding any runs to the score. To make up for the early loss, Mohammad Rizwan had an incredible performance, scoring 82 runs off 59 balls. He scored twelve runs, three of which were sixes and nine fours.
Iftikhar Ahmed and David Willey gave Multan Sultans hope despite losing wickets early on, with Reeza Hendricks and Yaris Khan leaving after only 8 and 9 runs, respectively. Willey scored twenty-five runs, and Ahmed provided thirty-four vital runs to the team total.
