Punjab Government Introduced Eco-Friendly Electric Rickshaw

These electric rickshaws can travel up to 150 km on a single charge, which will help save fuel costs.

It is being told that the Punjab government has taken a principled decision to stop Chung Chi rickshaws in the province.

The Transport Department has given Chung Chi Rickshaws one month to be approved, and the production companies of Chung Chi Rickshaws have been told to make sure that registration is done.

After one month, unapproved and unregistered rickshaws will be completely banned.

Apart from this, the Punjab government has also decided to give electric bikes to the students. Under the new scheme, students of universities and colleges will be given electric bikes at a discounted price through lottery.

Bank of Punjab will provide financial support to the provincial government. It has been learned that a formula for this scheme has been prepared after caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi announced to give electric bikes to students.

Under which the scheme will be introduced only for students of universities and colleges in the first phase, an 11-member sub-committee chaired by Secretary Transport is working on it, the scheme is likely to be approved next month.
