Punjab Might Experience The 7th Wave Of Coronavirus

Punjab health experts suggest winter booster doses enhanced COVID-19.

They are worried since the majority of people of Punjab are now vulnerable to the new variety known as “BQ-1,” a sub-variant of the Omicron, due to a significant portion of the population receiving booster injections five months ago.

The decisions were made at a meeting held on Monday by Punjab’s directorate of health services. In order to combat the virus’ seventh wave, the committee decided to give the Communicable Disease Control (CDC) of the most recent Omicron subvariant to Punjab a significant role.

An official stated that a World Health Organization (WHO) representative warned the group of the potential risk of the 7th wave of Covid-19 reappearing in Punjab.

He mentioned the high transmissibility of the new sub-variant of Omicron BQ-1 and claimed that this had caused an undesirable scenario in China due to the hundreds of thousands of brand-new cases in the nation.

The responses confirmed that the new sub-variant of the Omicron required immediate action by establishing all existing programs to avoid its spread in Punjab based on the official’s assertion.

To prepare for the anticipated seventh wave of the virus, it has also been proposed that an emergency session of the technical workgroup be held today (Tuesday).

To better monitor and sequence cases, genomic sequences, field investigations, laboratory assessments, and other data, the authorities should take the necessary steps.
