Roger Waters Demands Former PM Imran Khan Release

Roger Waters, an English musician and member of Pink Floyd, made a statement on Tuesday calling for the release of former prime minister Imran Khan from jail.

Known for his love of fair play, Waters chastised the current state of affairs in Pakistan in a letter to the country’s leaders, writing, “What you are doing in Pakistan is not cricket.”

Waters voiced concern, emphasizing the early release of Imran Khan from prison and stating that he should be allowed to lead his political party, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

In addition to Waters’ appeal, there was a moving video montage that included Imran Khan and his supporters. The background music was “I Don’t Like Cricket (I Love It)” by 10 cc.

Imran Khan is currently facing convictions and punishments in three different trials. In the cipher case, authorities sentenced him to ten years, while in the Toshakhana reference, he and his spouse, Bushra Bibi, received fourteen years each. Imran also faces a punishment of Rs 0.5 million and seven years in prison for marrying during the former first lady’s “Iddat.”
