Rs. 45 Billion Required for Salaries, Provincial Finance Department

Provincial treasury: 13B available, but Rs. 45B needed for salaries.

Regarding financial issues, the provincial finance department wrote a full memo to the chief secretary in which it was stated that there is only Rs. 13 billion in the treasury while 45 billion rupees are required for salaries.

The caretaker government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday apologized for not paying advance salaries to civil servants in honor of Eid, citing the province’s financial security and the possibility of bankruptcy.

According to the document, the provincial administration expected to receive Rs 20-25 billion from the federal government in April. In view of the economic situation, the Finance Department is not in a position to advance salary and pension.

According to the finance department, the KP government owes Rs 20 billion for flour subsidy, 3 billion rupees for basic services to hospitals, 4 billion rupees for health cards and 1 billion rupees for law and order. 1.30 billion rupees will have to be spent for free textbooks.
