School Holiday Announced Tomorrow due to Rain Forecast

All school will remain closed tomorrow, the Chief Minister announced.

Chief minister has declared a rain emergency for the metropolitan area, meaning that school will remain closed tomorrow.

Murad Ali Shah, the recently elected chief minister of Sindh, has announced that government and commercial establishments in Karachi will be closed for a half-day on Friday, March 1.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a warning that a strong westerly wave is expected to move into western areas on February 29. It may cover most of the nation on March 1 and continue until March 2.

As a result, it is predicted that between February 29 and March 1, Sukkur, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Larkana, Dadu, Shaheed Benazirabad, Karachi, Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, Khairpur, and Mirpurkhas would see rain, wind, and thunderstorms. Isolated hailstorms are also expected during this time.

The chief minister presided over a meeting where the decision to implement a half-day schedule was made in order to assess the possible effects of the approaching rains.

DG PDMA Salman Shah informed the group that on March 1st, the city would see 16 to 32 mm of rain in a 12-hour period.

As a result, the chief minister has instructed all pertinent authorities to take the required actions to avert any unfavorable circumstances from occurring.
