Major General (Rtd.) Hafeez-ur-Rehman appoint PTA Member Administrator

Major General (Rtd.) Rehman appointed PTA Member, potential chairman.

Hafeez-ur-Rehman appointed as Member (Administration) PTA received approval from the Federal Cabinet, which is presided over by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, According to sources.

On the advice of the Selection Committee, which was chaired by the Federal Minister for Defence Khawaja Asif, approval was requested through a summary from the Federal Cabinet.

Dr. Muhammad Amir Malik was the strongest candidate among the three nominated candidates for the job, however, he later withdrew his name from consideration after expressing disinterest in the role.

Prior to the next hearing date, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has postponed the appointment of a Member (Administration) and directed the federation not to proceed with any recruitment attempts connected to the contested advertisement.

Rehman was appointed Member (Administration) by the federal government after the IHC lifted the stay on Wednesday. The petition can nonetheless go on normally.

The procedure to nominate a new Member, or Member (Administration), which would bring the total number of Members to four, was started by the federal government last month.

Technical Member serves as Chairman of the PTA, which consists of three members: Finance Member, Compliance & Enforcement Member, and Technical Member. The government has agreed that there will now be four Members.

On the other hand, it took some time for the Cabinet Division to start reviewing the Member (Technical) candidates after the advertising was published.

The shortlisting process will begin following the screening of candidates for Member (Technical), according to the authorities of the cabinet division. Officials remained mum over the timing of the Member (Technical) appointment procedure.
