The star-studded movie The Legend Of Maula Jatt remains on a roll to a notch higher, earning Rs. 1 billion internationally at the box office.
The Legend of Maula Jatt, the most well-known and highest-grossing movie in Lollywood, has broken yet another record, this time laying a benchmark for box office success for films to be released in theaters.
On Sunday, the film’s official Instagram account published a poster with the description, “On the final day of 2022, the film surpassed the astonishing milestone of 100 crores [Rs1 billion] in Pakistan.”
A never-before-seen photo from the set of the movie that director Bilal Lashari uploaded was captioned, “Perfect timing as Maula Jatt crosses 100 crores tonight at the Pakistani box office and $10 million USD internationally. Once more, I want to express my gratitude to the members of team MJ and the millions of people who have seen The Maula Jatt and found it to be fantastic.
In The Legend of Maula Jatt, Punjab’s own superhero is reimagined for a global audience as a reworking of the 1979 cult movie Maula Jatt. Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Humaima Malick, Gohar Rasheed, Faris Shafi, Ali Azmat, Raheela Agha, Babar Ali, Saima Baloch, Shafqat Cheema, Nayyar Ejaz, and Resham are among the actors who appear in the movie.
