Zia Mohyeddin, a well-known actor, died in Karachi. He had 91 years.
At a city hospital, Zia Mohyeddin was seriously ill and receiving life support.
Following Zuhr, funeral prayers will be recited at Imambargah Yasrab in Karachi’s fourth defence phase.
On June 20, 1931, Mohyeddin was born. Over the course of his career, he made appearances in both British and Pakistani films and television.
He will also be remembered in history as Pakistan’s greatest orator.
In 2003 and 2012, he received the honorifics Sitara-i-Imtiaz and Hilal-i-Imtiaz. On November 29, 2017, the Pakistani community in Dubai honoured him with a Lifetime Achievement Award, which was handed by the Pakistani ambassador to the United Arab Emirates.
