The nation marks the 45th anniversary of its respected leader, former prime minister Zulfikar Ali (ZA) Bhutto’s martyrdom, said Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, who is the grandson of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, on the eve of the occasion.
He claims that there is a bittersweet sense of relief that the nation’s legal system has now admitted to being complicit in Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s martyrdom.

On the occasion of the 45th Martyrdom Day, he said, “The recognition, emerging 45 years after the tragic judicial killing, resonates deeply with the collective conscience of the Pakistani people and echoes the demands of history.”
He was paying tribute to the first elected Prime Minister of Pakistan and founding chairman of People’s Party Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.

The Supreme Court’s observation, according to Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, “validates the position taken by Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and confirms the tragic reality that her father, the first elected prime minister of Pakistan, was a victim of judicial persecution as part of a sinister conspiracy.”
“I would want to pay tribute to President Asif Ali Zardari, who embodies the idea of taking the appropriate action at the appropriate time, and whose filing of a presidential reference in the Supreme Court marked a turning point in the history of our country.
He continued, “His unshakable dedication to pursuing justice for Shaheed Bhutto has created noteworthy turning point and opened the door for substantial advancements in our nation’s legal system.
“From spearheading the creation of the country’s unanimous constitution to pioneering advancements in the nuclear program, agricultural and industrial reforms, and fostering enduring partnerships such as the Pakistan-China friendship and solidarity with the Islamic Ummah, his legacy remains a guiding light of progress,” Bilawal said in his tribute to Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, emphasizing the unique contributions of Quaid-e-Awam to Pakistan’s socio-political landscape.
