Karachi: Track fixed post Hazara Express incident; service resumes.
Officials from the railways worked frantically to restart traffic by opening the track after more than 16 hours. Senior railway officials were on hand to fix the accident site’s train track.
Teams from the Pakistan Army, Rangers, and Railways participated in repairing railway track. According to railway officials, single line is operational and the down track has been removed. Since the track was repaired, more than six trains have passed the accident scene.
After the mishap, the Hazara Express departed for its destination. With the remaining coaches, the train was repaired and dispatched.
After a nine-hour delay, the Sukkur Express, which leaves Karachi at 11 pm, departed from the station.
At 11 am, the green line will arrive at Karachi Station, 17 hours late. Green Line Express and Rehman Baba have arrived in Karachi after travelling from Nawabshah.
In the sad accident, ten bogies of the Hazara Express derailed near Sarhari railway station near Nawabshah, leaving 30 people dead and more than 100 injured.
30 dead bodies and 64 injured people were transported to People’s Medical Hospital in Nawabshah, according to statistics made public by the hospital’s administration.
27 bodies have reportedly been delivered to the victims’ heirs and transferred back to their home countries, according to medical superintendent Dr. Aqeel Qureshi. He reported that 35 injured people are now being treated at PMC Hospital.
Three unidentified deceased bodies, according to him, are present in the mortuary. He said that the hospital has been placed in an emergency and that medical assistance is being given.
