According to Imran Khan, Afghan refugees should be treated sympathetically.
Islamabad: Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and former Prime Minister Imran Khan has issued a statement from jail about the plight of Afghan refugees.
In a statement, Imran Khan said that the way Afghan refugees are being treated is against the religion of Islam, the Book of Allah, the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and our social values.

“People who are forced from their land due to wars and natural disasters should be treated well,” he stressed. As a country, it is our responsibility to treat them with respect and dignity. 1.5 million refugees are not too much of a burden on a nation of 250 million.
Imran Khan said that the majority of the refugees coming to Pakistan who come here to take refuge from their own land are very poor. If this issue is not resolved amicably, the Afghan people as a whole will become desensitized.
Regarding the long-term relationship between the two countries, he said that the resentment resulting from this flawed strategy will become a part of their psyche.
I fear that our relationship may be over forever. It is time to stop treating Afghan refugees like animals in the herd. Planning and intelligence should be used to formulate overall policy. It is important to take into account the self-respect and dignity of refugees.
