ECP removed the Form 47 amid election result tampering allegations.
In response to allegations of tampering with election results, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) removed the Form 47 section off its website on Sunday.
When a visitor attempts to access the ECP website’s “Form-47 Provisional Results Dashboard,” a “404 error” notification displays, indicating that the requested webpage is not available on the server.
This action comes in response to grievances lodged against the electoral oversight body for allegedly taking too long to announce the election results.
In a message on X earlier in the day, Omar Ayub, the secretary general of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), said that returning officers (ROs) had fabricated Form 47 for the eighteen National Assembly seats that PTI-backed independent candidates in Karachi were allegedly victorious in.
In the meantime, independent candidates may, in accordance with the Constitution, join any political parliamentary party within three days of the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) notification. In the National Assembly, the party with the highest number of reserve seats for women and non-Muslims will be awarded.
Independent candidates will hold their post in an independent capacity if, within three days after receiving notice from the ECP, they do not join any political parliamentary party.
