Party sources indicated that the party leadership is deliberating to decide on the prime ministerial candidate from the Muslim League (N) to propose to the People’s Party for approval.

They mentioned that Nawaz Sharif’s name has not faced rejection for the prime ministerial candidacy.

Since the PML-N is anticipated to lead the federal coalition, many within the Maryam Nawaz camp assert Nawaz Sharif’s claim to the driving seat.

He further said that before the elections, Nawaz Sharif had expressed his desire to become the Prime Minister for the fourth time.

But unexpected results on February 8 forced him to rethink and his younger brother Shahbaz Sharif’s name emerged as the ‘favourite’ for the prime ministership.

The leader of the party, Khawaja Asif, while talking to the private TV channel ‘Sama TV’, said that Shahbaz Sharif, not Nawaz Sharif, will be the candidate for the Prime Ministership.

Commenting on this statement, Maryam Aurangzeb said that it is her personal opinion which does not reflect the party’s position.

He also denied the rumors regarding the ‘power sharing formula’ with the PPP and stated that they have agreed in principle to move forward together.

Who will become Prime Minister?

The Muslim League (N) previously declared that Nawaz Sharif would become Prime Minister if they secure a simple majority at the Centre.

However, in the general elections held on February 8, the Muslim League (N) won 79 seats in the National Assembly.

In this environment, with no fewer than 92 independent candidates supported by the Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the Muslim League (N) announced to form a coalition government, reversing its previous position.

Sources say that there is a faction within the party which believes that Nawaz Sharif should lead the government himself.

And Shahbaz Sharif should be made the Chief Minister of Punjab for better governance in the center and the largest province i.e. Punjab.

According to party sources, the Muslim League (N) should soon decide on who will be their prime ministerial candidate.

Provided that no objection or ‘unacceptable demands’ come forward from the PPP.

According to sources, Shahbaz Sharif’s meeting with Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari focused on the formula for power allocation rather than the prime minister’s name.

He went on to say that the Muslim League (N) is willing to give up many desirable posts (such as President, Speaker of the National Assembly, and Chairman of the Senate) in favor of the PPP’s Prime Ministership.

Sources say that a deadlock may arise between the Muslim League (N) and the People’s Party on two issues, first if the People’s Party asks for the post of Prime Minister for Bilawal and second if the People’s Party does not agree on the name of Nawaz Sharif for the Prime Minister. happened

Maryam Nawaz:

If Nawaz Sharif doesn’t become the Prime Minister, his daughter Maryam Nawaz will emerge as the top contender for the post of Chief Minister of Punjab.

Sources say that the Muslim League (N) wants so many independent candidates to join the Muslim League (N) that it does not need to depend on the People’s Party to form the government in Punjab.

Former Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah claimed in a tweet yesterday that Muslim League (N) has won 150 seats in the Punjab Assembly, but it is not clear on what basis he made this claim.
