Ex-Commissioner Rawalpindi Liaquat Ali Chatta, who made allegations of rigging in the elections, apologized to the Election Commission.
Former Commissioner Rawalpindi Liaquat Ali Chatta’s statement to the Election Commission has come to light.
In his statement, he has said that he is ashamed of his wrong statement regarding rigging, made an anti-state and malicious statement in the press conference, for which he apologizes to all the bureaucrats circle and the nation.
He said that he was under a lot of pressure due to retirement. I accept all responsibility and surrender to the authorities.
The statement clarified that authorities did not instruct any Returning Officer in Pindi Division to support or interfere in the election process.
After 32 years of government service, I was supposed to retire on March 13, 2024. I wanted to benefit a political party for a nationwide protest.
The purpose of accusing the Chief Justice was to undermine public confidence in him. I did not give any instructions to the ROs to favor any candidate. It is clear that the Chief Justice has no role in the election process.
He says that the official of the political party said that the party leadership has asked to take the name of the Chief Justice.
