Multan Sultans Team Reached Final of PSL 9

Multan Sultans made it to the final of pakistan Super League PSL 9.

In the opening match of the qualifier round of the ninth season of Pakistan Super League (PSL), Multan Sultans defeated Peshawar Zalmi by seven wickets to enter the final of PSL 9.

Peshawar Zalmi won the toss and decided to bat first. The team set a target of 147 runs for the loss of seven wickets.

Captain Babar Azam proved that he is a reliable batsman with a 42-ball 46, but fell short of a half-century.

His teammates Muhammad Haris and Tom Koehler Cadmore scored 22 and 24 runs.

Multan Sultans’ bowlers put pressure on Zalmi’s batsmen, Usama Mir taking two wickets. He conceded only 16 runs in his allotted four overs.

Chris Jordan conceded 28 runs and took two wickets. Muhammad Ali conceded 13 runs in his two overs but took one more wicket.

Chasing the target, Multan Sultans scored 147 runs for the loss of three wickets in 18.3 overs.

Yasir Khan was a brilliant batsman. He scored 54 runs off 37 balls which included seven fours and a six. Usman Khan scored 36 runs off 26 balls, Iftikhar Ahmed remained unbeaten with 22 runs.

Performance of Outstanding Runs:

Peshawar Zalmi’s bowlers struggled to contain the Sultans batsmen, with Mehran Mumtaz, Aamir Jamal, and Salman Irshad picking up one wicket each but surrendering significant runs. Aamir Jamal gave 23 runs in his three overs while Mehran Mumtaz and Irshad gave 28 and 28 runs in their respective overs.

Usama Mir was awarded Player of the Match for his bowling performance.

Thanks to this victory, Multan Sultans have reached the PSL final four times in a row.

The second playoff match between Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators will be played today at 9 pm on Friday.
