According to the report, Sirine wanted one last chance to talk to her mother. After the above 4 years have passed, Sirine uses an artificial intelligence (AI) called ‘Project December’ which the engineer who created it claims can ‘mimic the dead’.

The application provides users with a short online form that includes the deceased person’s age, relationship with the user and a quote from the person.

Responses entered in the form are fed into an AI chatbot powered by OpenAI’s GPT2. Serene used a chatbot just like this, the results were terrifying.

Sirine had this conversation with his late mother Najah.

Jason Rohrer, founder of Project December, says that users are typically people trying to cope with the sudden death of a loved one. Most people have their last conversation with a deceased loved one in a simulated manner and then move on.
