Suicide attack on foreigners in Karachi on Friday, 2 people killed.
Regarding the suicide attack near the van in Landhi Mansehra Colony of Karachi, the police say that all the five foreigners in the vehicle were safe.
According to the police, the deceased included the driver and the guard, while all the foreigners have been shifted to a safe place.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Malir Tariq Elahi Mastoi stated that gunfire at the automobile occurred after the explosion, which is thought to have been a suicide assault.
The terrorists started shooting at the police when they arrived, which ultimately led to the neutralization of two of the perpetrators.
SSP Mastoi stated that based on preliminary police findings, three of the attackers have been recognized as terrorists. It also seems that one of the attackers committed suicide while carrying out the attack.
SSP Malir disclosed, “Amid the confusion, one attacker was neutralized in the suicide blast, while another met his end in the ensuing shootout with law enforcement.”
A broad search operation has been launched throughout the city as a result of the third suspect, who escaped capture.
At the location of the incident, a bag holding a stash of hand grenades was also found.
The presence of two assailants was confirmed by DIG East Zone Azfar Mahesar. He claimed that one of the attackers was donning a suicide jacket.
When DIG discovered that there was a police team on the scene, they moved quickly to stop a significant loss. The police officer told the reporters that this was a targeted strike. “Foreigners have complete protection. They have been relocated to secure locations,” he stated, adding, “Police offer security to the foreigners involved in the CPEC as well as those who are not.”
