Following the Instagram, WhatsApp will introduce Bitmoji-like avatars.
The messenger app’s upcoming Bitmoji update 2.22.23.9 beta on Android for selected users is expected to include support for customizable avatars.
Users can expect to see a new ‘Avatar’ category in Settings that allows them to create a digital version of themselves. For a more exciting messaging experience with friends and family, the app will then generate sticker packs with their avatars in various poses and expressions.
WABetaInfo was the first to notice the feature last month, but it is now being officially rolled out to WhatsApp users. Meta has not stated when it plans to make the feature available to all Android and iOS users.
Avatars were first introduced in Messenger and the News Feed in 2019 and were later made available for use in Facebook comments and Stories in 2020.
Meta has now turned the avatars into 3D visuals and allows their users to apply them to Instagram Stories from feed posts and Facebook profile pictures.
