Argentina and Pakistan Discuss About Collaboration in Sports, Especially Football

Minister congratulates Argentina ambassador’s on World Cup victory.

Leopoldo Francisco Sahores, the ambassador of Argentina to Pakistan, met with Ehsan ur Rehman Mazari, the minister for interprovincial coordination (IPC), on Tuesday to explore the extent of bilateral collaboration in sports, particularly football, polo, squash, and mountaineering.

According to Minister Mazari, Pakistan has a sizable youth population, therefore it would be prudent to invest in helping them advance their athletic abilities. He suggested that Pakistan might benefit from Argentine knowledge and expertise in football training and coaches.

He also spoke about the potential for female football players in Pakistan to receive instruction and training

The ambassador informed the minister that he had a thorough discussion about the subject with Shaza Fatima Khawaja, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Youth Affairs, as well as a number of other issues pertaining to bilateral cooperation with an emphasis on youth.

In particular, he asserted that Pakistan and Argentina wished to work together on long-term sports projects.

The representative also mentioned the possibility of Argentinian women’s soccer players traveling to Pakistan at the beginning of the year to work with and train Pakistani women’s soccer players.

Both nations agreed that they should cooperate in the development of bilateral relations through the exchange of sports professionals and in the battle against the doping threat.
