Azam named captain of Peshawar Zalmi for PSL eighth season in Karachi.
Peshawar Zalmi’s chose prominent Pakistani player Babar Azam as team captain for the upcoming eighth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 8). In PSL 7, pacer Wahab Riaz captained the Javed Afridi-owned cricket franchise. Afridi felt that his squad would perform well in the forthcoming PSL season under the captaincy of Babar Azam.

Muhammad Akram, the director of Peshawar Zalmi, expressed his delight that Azam had joined the squad. He believes his world-class batting skills and captaincy abilities can benefit Peshawar Zalmi in the PSL 8.
The PSL 8 will begin on February 9, 2023, with the final on March 19. The matches will be held in four cities: Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi, and Multan.
