Mohsin Naqvi expected to lead PCB, day after Zaka Ashraf stepped down.
Days after Zaka Ashraf resigned, Mohsin Naqvi is expected to take over as head of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), according to sources.
According to local media, the acting prime minister accepted Zaka Ashraf’s resignation as PCB chairman and appointed Mohsin Naqvi to the post.
It is important to note that Mohsin Naqvi is presently serving as Punjab’s interim chief minister.
According to the most recent changes, Naqvi will take the place of the Board of Governors and PCB Management Committee.
On January 22, 2024, Mohsin Naqi made his appointment public after the news was covered by the local media.
Zaka Ashraf, the head of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee, resigned last week after holding the role for at least seven months.
In a statement, Ashraf said that his goal was to make Pakistani cricket better.
Despite this, he voiced his displeasure with the working circumstances and stated he couldn’t work in such a setting. “The prime minister does not have the authority to nominate a new chairman,” he went on.
