Trump hints at running for Congress Speaker for the country interest.
US President Donald Trump reportedly told a foreign news agency that he could temporarily take over as speaker if the party needed it.
He said that I am getting many calls regarding becoming the speaker. The interests of the nation, the Republican Party and the people will come first.
On the other hand, political opponents of the former US president believe that Donald is preparing to become speaker to avoid legal proceedings.
Note that the US House of Representatives removed Speaker Kevin McCarthy from his position two days ago. Trump was expected to run for Speaker after McCarthy’s removal, and a successful no-confidence motion was passed against him. Soon after, Trump’s name emerged.
