Earthquake in Pakistan and Afghanistan, Magnitude 6.4 Record

Earthquake of magnitude 6.4 have been felt in pakistan & afghanistan.

According to the US Geological Survey and Pakistani Officials, an Earthquake with a Magnitude of 6.4 Struck Parts of Pakistan and Afghanistan on Thursday.

The epicenter of the tremor was in the Hindu Kush mountain range in Afghanistan, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department.

The epicenter was located at a depth of 206 kilometers (128 miles) and approximately 45 kilometers (27.9 miles) from Jurm village in northern Afghanistan, according to the U.S.G.S.

In neither nation, there any immediate reports of damage.

The earthquake shook Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, and affected major cities like Lahore, Peshawar, and Muzaffarabad.

A resident of Islamabad’s periphery named Sahiba Bibi reported that she was getting ready for prayers when the earth began to tremble.

“We swiftly exited our residence and observed several other individuals standing outside their homes,” she remarked.

After sensing the earthquake, Peshawar residents in the northwest also reported leaving their houses and places of offices.

according to Bilal Faizi, a spokesman for the northwest emergency services of Pakistan, who talked with The Associated Press.

” he said, Though the earthquake was so strong that many people came out of their offices and houses in Peshawar and elsewhere in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in fear.

Although there was no reported damage from the earthquake in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, several terrified residents fled their homes and workplaces in a precautionary manner.

Since the area is near an active continental plate boundary, earthquakes frequently strike Pakistan.

In 2005, a 7.6-magnitude earthquake in Pakistan and Kashmir claimed hundreds of lives.
