Former Tehsildar Najaf Hameed was arrested in a corruption case, he will be presented to the court on Tuesday for physical remand.
The case against Najaf Hameed was heard, he reached the court with delay and the court rejected his interim bail application.

Najaf Hameed is the elder brother of former DGISI General Retired Faiz Hameed, while a case has been registered against him under Fraud Section 420.468 and 471 in Anti-Corruption Department Chakwal.
It should be remembered that in April 2023, the anti-corruption department of Rawalpindi started an investigation against Sardar Najaf Hameed, the brother of former DGISI General Faiz Hameed.
Anti-corruption Rawalpindi had written to Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi and Deputy Commissioner Chakwal, asking them to provide records of Sardar Najaf Hameed’s land and assets beyond his income.
According to Anti-Corruption Rawalpindi, Sardar Najaf Hameed had superseded several seniors to be promoted from Naib Tehsildar to Girdawar and created assets in excess of income.
It should be noted that Najaf Hameed was suspended from the post of Naib Tehsil Dar on 16 February 2023 and he was directed to leave the charge immediately and report to the Commissioner’s Office. According to the notification, Deputy Tehsildar Najaf Hameed was suspended for misconduct and public interest.
