The opener, Israrullah, failed to score more than one run, and the captain, Sahibzada Farhan, was taken out after reaching 28 runs. A 68-run partnership between Kamran Ghulam and Waqar Ahmed gave their team some impetus, but it was short-lived since the skilled spinner Abrar Ahmed dismissed both of them before they could do any real harm.

After then, the Sahibzada-led team struggled on the crease and was unable to maintain any strong partnerships. The spinner attempted to keep the game alive for his side while batting alongside Imran Khan Snr. Sajid Khan, who had earlier been forced to retire hurt, came to bat at the finish.
