Memon stated, “The first Taraweeh prayers will take place on the night of March 11, with a 95% likelihood that the first fast will fall on March 12.
The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will convene in Islamabad, along with zonal committees meeting in their respective regions, to receive and assess moon sighting reports before officially announcing the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan.
International news outlets announced that gatherings will take place across Islamic countries on March 10th to view the crescent moon and collect testimonies, a critical step in determining the official start of the holy month of Ramadan.
According to astronomers, the moon will likely be too faint to observe through binoculars in most regions of Arab and Islamic countries due to its conjunction with the sun on March 10.
According to these forecasts, Ramadan will begin on Tuesday, March 12th, following the completion of 30 days in the month of Shaban.
This prediction is consistent with the rules of the Islamic lunar calendar, which establish the start of Islamic months based on lunar visibility.
