Government has announced a reduction in prices of petroleum products.
The Ministry of Finance has issued a notification regarding the reduction in the prices of petroleum products.
According to the notification, the price of petrol per liter has been reduced by Rs.8.

After a reduction of Rs 8, the new price of petrol has been fixed at Rs 259 34 paise per litre. Diesel price remains unchanged at Rs 276 21 paise per litre.
The new price of kerosene has been fixed at Rs 186 86 paise. The price of kerosene has been reduced by Rs 1.97 paise per litre.
The price of light diesel oil has also been reduced by 92 paise, the new price has been fixed at Rs 164 83 paise.
According to the notification, the new price of petrol has been implemented from 12 midnight yesterday.
The new petroleum product prices are effective until January 31, 2024; at that point. They will be adjusted in accordance with the state of the market.
It is anticipated that the decrease in petrol prices will lessen the economy’s inflationary strain and offer some respite to the general public, particularly those in the transportation industry.
The government has urged the public to use fuel efficiently and adopt environmentally friendly alternatives.
