Governor Signed the Summary Dissolving K-P Assembly

Peshawar: Governor dissolves K-P Assembly, following Punjab’s lead.

The governor gave Mahmood Khan, the Chief Minister of the K-P Assembly instructions to remain in his position as acting chief minister until the interim administration took over.

Additionally, Governor Ghulam Ali indicated his willingness to mediate between Mahmood Khan and the opposition leader.

According to Imran Khan, the chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the K-P CM had advised the governor on Tuesday asking for the dissolution of the provincial parliament under Article 112(1) of the Constitution.

The consultation process between the departing chief minister and the opposition leader for appointing an interim administration will begin with the legislature’s dissolution.

According to sources, each faction was putting together a list of candidates for the caretaker chief minister.

The K-P Assembly was dissolved a few days after the Punjab Assembly, which was also dissolved on Imran’s orders.

After the Haqeeqi Azadi March on November 26, the PTI leader declared that he would dissolve the two provincial assemblies, in which the PTI held power.

Imran has stated that the government would not be able to prevent general elections from occurring if they were to be held in 66% of the country following the dissolution of assemblies.
