ISLAMABAD: All educational institutions in the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) have launched a mega campaign to collect donations for the earthquake victims of Turkey and Syria, the death toll from the devastating earthquake is the lowest so far. Thirty thousand lives have been taken.
The campaign was launched by ICT after the Prime Minister appealed for help to Earthquake victims and survivors and to show solidarity with the people of Turkey and Syria.
The students expressed their resolve and determination to cooperate with the Government of Pakistan to help the earthquake-affected people in Turkey and Syria, who lost their families, home, and livelihood in the earthquake. It is time that we all stand up to help our needy brothers in every possible way.
Students and management set up a donation box to collect donations and teachers and students conducted awareness and motivational sessions to encourage students to participate in this activity.
The school management asked the students to contribute to the funds with an amount as low as Rs.10. Together they can make a difference in the lives of those affected.
Earlier, the Federal Directorate of Education under the Federal Ministry of Education and Vocational Training instructed the educational institutions to collect funds to help the earthquake victims.
The money will go to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for Earthquake Victims, which will raise funds for Turkey, which was rocked by a 7.8-magnitude earthquake on Monday.
Fundraising activity started in 5 schools namely Islamabad College for Girls, F-6/2, Islamabad College for Boys G-6/3, Islamabad Model College for Girls F-7/4, Islamabad Model College For Girls F-10/2 and Islamabad Model College for Boys F-8/4.
