Lahore High Court suspended the arrest warrants against Imran Khan.
Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan, who was hearing the PTI leaders’ appeal against the warrants issued, suspended the arrest warrants. The warrants were issued last week by the ECP’s four-member bench and were challenged today by PTI leaders. Even though the charges were suspended, the court ordered the ECP to continue its contempt litigation against the PTI leaders.
“PTI seeks relief from the judiciary but targets them in the media,” the court stated during the hearing. “Targeting the judicial system in the media is contempt of court. If Fawad Chaudhry continues to target the courts in the media, legal contempt proceedings will be initiated,” the court warned.
