Israel Retaliatory Attack on Iran. ABC News reported late Thursday, citing a U.S. official, that Iran’s state media reported an explosion in the center of the country, days after Iran retaliated against Israel with a drone attack.
The explosion was reported near an airport in the Iranian capital of Isfahan, according to the Fars news agency, however, the reason was not immediately known. Iran’s state television said flights were grounded over Tehran, Shiraz, and Isfahan.

The Isfahan province is home to several Iranian nuclear plants, including Natanz, the hub of Iran’s uranium enrichment program.
A notification to airmen placed on a U.S. Federal Aviation Administration database stated that all flights were suspended until 0700 GMT out of Tehran’s Imam Khomeini International Airport.
A few flights operated by Emirates and Flydubai passing over Iran early on Friday abruptly veered outside the airspace, as indicated by flight paths displayed on the tracking website Flightradar24.
Israel has threatened to avenge a suspected Israeli strike on its embassy compound in Syria by using hundreds of drones and missiles in its attack over the weekend. Before they could enter Israeli land, the majority of the Iranian drones and missiles were shot down.
Concerns regarding the possibility of the Israel-Gaza conflict escalating to the rest of the region have been voiced by analysts and observers.
