Khadija Shah is Granted Bail in The May 9 Cases

Khadija Shah, granted bail by Lahore Court for May 9 violence charges.

Khadija Shah and nine other people were granted bail by a two member LHC panel led by Justice Ayla Neelum after the case was heard.

Prior to her judicial remand in several May 9 riot charges, PTI activist Khadija Shah had petitioned the Lahore High Court to obtain a list of all the complaints filed against her.

On behalf of Ms. Shah, attorney Sameer Khosa filed a plea, claiming that the petitioner had been wrongly accused in the cases by the police.

According to the petition, the petitioner has a right to know if any accusations have been made against her in order to get a fair cases.

In the petition, the court is asked to require the FIA and the police to provide a list of all the filed police reports (FIRs) against the petitioner.

In order to allow Khadija Shah to request bail in any court before being arrested and to participate in any inquiry into her, the petition asks for protected bail.

May 9 events

Following Imran Khan, the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and former prime minister, being taken into custody at the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on May 9, violent altercations spread throughout the country.

Party members were upset at the arrest of the party leader, so they staged protests in a number of places.
