Brutal Cold Wave Hit Pakistan After Wet Spell, Chilling Sindh, Punjab.
A severe cold wave has gripped Pakistan. The temperature falling significantly across the country, from Sindh to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), setting new records.
As per Pak Weather, Pakistan’s largest algorithmic weather station network, the temperature in Lahore dropped to -0.4°C last night, the first time in several years.
It should be noted that this is not Lahore’s lowest temperature. The lowest temperature ever measured in Lahore was -2.2°C in 1935.
Karachi, on the other hand, is enduring its coldest winter in decades. This season, the provincial capital has seen several record-breaking temperature changes.
Karachi awoke on Sunday after experiencing its coldest night of the winter season. The temperature dropped to 0.7°C. Malir Cantt recorded this temperature.
Bear in mind that these are only the winter temperatures for Karachi. The coldest temperature ever recorded in Karachi was 0 degrees Celsius in 1934.
