Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz reached Kot Lakhpat Jail and broke fast with the Detainees. During her visit, Maryam Nawaz also inaugurated the video call facility for the prisoners.
She also went to the cell where her father Nawaz Sharif was imprisoned.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister of Punjab announced a 3-month reduction in the sentence of prisoners across the province and the release of 155 prisoners.

On this occasion, Maryam Nawaz said that she was remembering the time spent in prison while coming to the Central Jail. He added that she was on death row, facing a tough time.

Maryam Nawaz also said that her father was also imprisoned in the same jail, but they were not allowed to visit, they were allowed to visit once a week.
The Chief Minister of Punjab said that once a handwritten letter of his father was found in prison, he told that he was taking it to NAB from here.
She said that someone in the jail told that your father was unwell and was being taken to the hospital, it was a trying time.
Maryam Nawaz said that she could not talk to her cancer patient mother in Adiala Jail, she used to talk to the children by looking at the clock.
He said that father was told about mother’s condition in the court, but no one talked to him despite what he said.
Chief Minister Punjab said that due to weaknesses in the justice system, even innocent people have to go to jail, he prays that the justice system will improve so that no innocent person goes to jail.
He said that the prison system will be improved and the prisoners will be made easier.
