JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazl’s convoy attacked in Dera Ismail Khan, KPK.
Maulana Fazl’s was in a convoy on his way to an election campaign when there was attacked in the area.
An official from the JUI-F has verified the incident and said that the attack happened close to DI Khan’s Ziark Interchange.
According to reports, the incident happened as the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) president was traveling through Dera Ismail Khan for his election campaign. Following the assault, Fazl made it to his family’s ancestral home near Abdul Khel, where he is reportedly safe.
Aslam Ghori, a spokesman for the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), denounced the attack and called it cowardly. Ghori expressed his dissatisfaction over what he sees as the administration’s lack of decisive action in spite of several alerts regarding the dangers the party’s leadership faces.
In a press release, Ghori said, “We have repeatedly warned that the situation is not favourable for our leadership.” He took issue with the administration’s daily threat letters and inaction on them.
Ghori questioned the organizations in charge of guaranteeing the security of public leaders and called for an expeditious probe into the event.
