Indian PM Narendra Modi is to inaugurate first temple in Abu Dhabi.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the first temple in the United Arab Emirates, the Indian Prime Minister will pay an official visit to Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.
The Indian Prime Minister will hold meetings with senior officials during the two-day visit, including Vice President and President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. On Wednesday, the Prime Minister will also officially inaugurate the first temple in the Middle East in Abu Dhabi.
The decision to build this temple was taken during Modi’s visit to the UAE in 2015. Current President Muhammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who was the Crown Prince at the time, donated 13.5 acres of land for the temple.
It should be noted that skilled Indian artisans cut hundreds of tons of stones required for the construction of the temple, which were later transported to the United Arab Emirates.
