National T20 2023-24 Starts Today, Launching Cricket Action in Karachi

National T20 2023-24 kicks off Nov 24, 18 teams, 4 venues in Karachi.

Every game held at National Bank Stadium will be live-streamed on YouTube in international territories and televised on PTV Sports and ARY ZAP in Pakistan. At National Bank Stadium, doubleheader games will start at 1500 and 2000 PKT, with tosses taking place at 1430 and 1930 PKT, respectively.

Free admission for spectators is another announcement made by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for all games held at National Bank Stadium. Viewers will have access to the enclosures for Hanif Mohammad, Javed Miandad, and Fazal Mahmood.

The format of the 63-match competition is group stage games first, followed by Super Eight matches. From November 24 to November 28, 32 group stage matches are scheduled to take place. Four groups of the eighteen participating teams have been formed.

The groups are split up as follows:

  • Group A: Quetta, Larkana, Peshawar, Karachi Blues, and Lahore Whites
  • Group B: Hyderabad, Islamabad, Dera Murad Jamali, Karachi Whites, and Lahore Blues
  • Group C: Abbottabad, Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, and Rawalpindi
  • Group D: AJK, FATA, Multan, and Sialkot

Lahore Whites vs Larkana and Karachi Blues vs Peshawar will be the opening Group A fixtures at NBP Sports Complex. At UBL Sports Complex, Hyderabad will play DM Jamali, while Karachi Whites will play Islamabad in Group B. Group C matches will see Rawalpindi play Abbottabad and Faisalabad play Bahawalpur at National Bank Stadium. Group D matches will see FATA play AJK and Multan-Sialkot play at HPC Oval Ground.

The top two teams from each group advance to the round-robin Super Eight stage, which takes place from December 1–8. In due course, the entire Super Eight game schedule will be made public.

The top four teams advance to the semi-finals after the Super Eight stage. The National Bank Stadium will host the semi-finals on December 9 at 1500 PKT and 2000 PKT, respectively.

The championship game is set for December 10 at the same location. The first ball will be bowled at 2000 PKT, with the toss scheduled for 1930 PKT.

A prize money of PKR 5 million will be awarded to the winning team of the tournament. The runners-up in the competition will receive PKR 2.5 million in the interim. PKR 250,000 will be awarded to the tournament winner.

The three other awards best batter, best bowler, and best wicketkeeper of the tournament will receive the same sum of money. Player of the match awards in all eight Super Eight games and the semifinals will total PKR 25,000, while the player of the final will take home PKR 50,000.
